State College, PA (September 30, 2009) – Marriott announced the recent opening of the new Fairfield Inn & Suites in Lock Haven Pennsylvania. Located at 50 Spring Street at Susquehanna Square, the hotel will operate as a Fairfield Inn franchise owned by Shaner Investments of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shaner Hotels based out of State College, Pennsylvania will manage the property.

This property represents the first opening of a five total hotel openings for the first quarter of 2009.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Lock Haven is making a splash with a fresh new design. The contemporary new dècor is transforming the guest experience with a warm and welcoming environment; developed to address every traveler's needs and inspire them with bright and lively colors. And one of the first groups to use the hotel will be a major film production company. 20th Century Fox Film Corporation has selected the Fairfield to house the film crew for the production of the movie Unstoppable, starring Denzel Washington and Rosario Dawson. Fox will have exclusive use of the hotel from October 9 through 29, with arrivals as early as October 6 and departures up to November 3. Filming through the region, the production will provide a significant economic impact to the Lock Haven area.
