Shaner 2009 Charity Golf Tournament
Tees Off for Tides
STATE COLLEGE, PA - Shaner has named Tides as the 2009 beneficiary of its ninth annual Charity Golf Tournament, to be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses in State College, PA.
Tides is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that is a support program for grieving children and the people who love them. Tides provides an opportunity for families to cope with the death of someone special to them. Children, adolescents, and their adult family members come together to share their grief in a supportive setting.
Sponsorships for teams of four or eight golfers are available for the August 14th tournament. Morning (7:30 AM) and afternoon (1:30 PM) shotgun start times are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tee/green sponsorships ($250), and bronze ($700) through platinum ($5,000) sponsorship levels are available. Golfers are welcome to register as individual participants ($150), as well.
A wide range of cash and other prizes will be awarded. In addition to hole-in-one cars donated by Saturn of State College, over $9,000 in both team and individual skill-related, 50/50 raffle and other prizes and gifts will be awarded. A pre-tournament, Thursday evening social and Friday evening dinner are also scheduled. For their generosity, Shaner wishes to thank Saturn of State College, as well as the Outback Steakhouse, Clem’s BBQ and Prospector’s Allegheny Rib Company restaurant for donating the meals for the event.
