Congratulations to the incredible team at Hampton Inn Columbia Downtown on an outstanding hotel opening!

Bringing a new hotel to life takes exceptional leadership, collaboration, and dedication, and this opening was no exception. Despite construction challenges and a demanding timeline, the team worked tirelessly to prepare the property, establish operational systems, train associates, support sales efforts, and ensure every detail was in place to welcome guests.

The successful opening was made possible through the leadership and hard work of:

  • Inese Roth, General Manager

  • Stephanie Barnes, Director of Sales

  • Jonathan Rogers, Front Office Manager

  • Cassandra Millet, Executive Housekeeper

  • John Sugar, Chief Engineer

Their commitment to excellence helped bring this exciting project across the finish line, creating a welcoming new destination for travelers visiting Columbia, Pennsylvania.

A Unique Hotel Rooted in Local History

Located in the heart of historic downtown Columbia, Hampton Inn Columbia Downtown features 80 guest rooms and offers a distinctive blend of modern hospitality and local character. The hotel occupies the historic Becker Pretzel Bakeries Potato Chip Factory, giving new life to a building with ties to the area's past while introducing a contemporary lodging option to the community.

Situated just blocks from the Susquehanna River, the hotel provides convenient access to downtown shops, local restaurants, and outdoor recreation. Nearby attractions include the Turkey Hill Experience, the National Watch and Clock Museum, and the Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, where visitors can learn about the region's history and explore the area's scenic riverfront and trails.

Designed to serve both leisure and business travelers, the hotel offers amenities including complimentary hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, complimentary parking, and a fitness center. Its downtown setting also provides an inviting starting point for guests looking to experience the history, attractions, and charm of Lancaster County.

The property's historic setting and convenient location make it a welcome addition to Columbia's hospitality landscape.

A Team Effort Worth Celebrating

An opening of this scale takes more than a strong on-property leadership team. It requires the support, flexibility, and collaboration of colleagues across the organization.

A special thank-you goes to the team members from other Shaner properties and the corporate team who stepped in to help make this opening possible. Your willingness to share your time, expertise, and support made a meaningful difference throughout the process.

We also recognize the entire Hampton Inn Columbia Downtown team. The long hours, hard work, and teamwork that went into preparing the hotel reflect the very best of Shaner hospitality.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this tremendous accomplishment! Thank you for your dedication and for helping bring another exciting hotel project to life.
